Nazarbayev University is located in Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan. Since the move of Kazakhstan’s capital from the southern city of Almaty in 1997, Astana is developing at an incredible pace. Its streets are being lined with futuristic malls, apartment buildings and office spaces that tell the story of a capital–and a country–on the rise. National Geographic describes the capital as “brash and grandiose, and wildly attractive” and The Guardian calls it “the futuristic frontier of architecture.” Astana can be referred to as “The City of the Future.” At Nazarbayev University, it could become the city of your future as a student or faculty member.
