Kuanysh A. Yergaliyev Joins as Assistant Professor of Practice at NU School of Medicine

Nazarbayev University School of Medicine (NU SoM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kuanysh A. Yergaliyev to the position of Assistant Professor of Practice, effective January 3, 2024.

Kuanysh holds an impressive educational background, having graduated from Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty and received a Master of Public Health degree from Tulane University in the USA. He also holds a Doctor of Public Health degree from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is a Bolashak Presidential scholarship fellow.

Throughout his career, Kuanysh has demonstrated proficiency in qualitative research methods for health sciences, health advocacy, analytical skills, community health planning, policy development, and monitoring and evaluation of public health programs.

Before joining Harvard University, Dr. Kuanysh Yergaliyev was a Senior Manager at the Department of Integrated Academic Health System, at Nazarbayev University. Before his tenure at NU, he served as the Rector at Suleyman Demirel University in Kazakhstan and held senior managerial positions at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. His leadership extends to his roles as the founder and past-President of Miras Boston Kazakh Cultural Foundation, highlighting his commitment to cultural and social initiatives.
