General information

Admission to NU programs is based on the principle of meritocracy, which implies the selection of applicants on the basis of their academic achievements, providing everyone with equal opportunities at admission, and facilitating the selection of the most promising and talented students without the influence of external factors. Thus, the requirements for admission to the programs of NU are the same for all applicants regardless of citizenship, social status, the status of the educational organization, the graduate of which the applicant is, etc.


Students who apply and are admitted get immersed in a state-of-the-art research facility with mentorship from professional, experienced staff and faculty. Scholarships and grants are available to help fund your education. Every student at NU is a scholar, researcher, and explorer. Whether you’re seeking undergraduate study, graduate study, a Ph.D., or non-degree training courses, we have a program to fit your needs. Our seven schools cover the most advanced knowledge and research in leading industries to ensure you succeed in your chosen career field.

Tuition fees

NU strives to attract the most talented and motivated students from around the world. The university offers a variety of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs across different fields of study.
The tuition fee for one academic year:

Settlements with residents of Kazakhstan are conducted in the national currency at the exchange rate of one US dollar as determined by the University.


Tuition-based admission is available to applicants who meet all requirements. Annually, NU determines the quota for tuition-based programs.

Work obligation

According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education" (Article 47, Paragraph 17) on the Three-year Post-Graduation work obligation for the educational grant holders approved by Government Decree #319-III on July 27, 2007, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who studied in medical and other specialties at the cost of State educational grant are obliged to work in the for at least three years.
