The NU SOM-UMC Pediatric Fellowships program has been developed according to the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) core competencies, together with our international strategic partner (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, UPMC). Therefore, this Program will provide doctors with those specialized competencies and clinical skills required to appropriately manage chronic pediatric diseases and, thus, unfortunate children requiring highly complex medical management.

Accordingly, an essential aspect of this Program is the integration with the University Medical Center's (UMC) Clinical Academic Department of Pediatric (hereinafter, Pediatric CAD), which now includes all the aforementioned pediatric programs.

Therefore, during this 2-year Program, the clinical fellows will receive high-quality and intensive clinical training in one specific and subspecialized pediatric program, which is available only at UMC in the northern part of Kazakhstan. Indeed, the UMC Pediatric CAD is one of the only two tertiary referral pediatric centers in Kazakhstan and, thus, able to provide local doctors/fellows with such complex clinical training.
